The Number One
Finest Set of All Time
1922-25 Regular Issues (NH)
Owner's Comments:
The 4th Bureau regular issues were a collecting passion between 2002 and 2006. The groupings were the 1922-25 flat plate set, 1923-26 perf 10 set, 1926-31 regular issue rotories, and 1929 Kansas-Nebraska overprint set. This set is now being retired January 15, 2008 and is the last that now is being passed on to other collectors to enjoy and many of my top graded pieces are now in other top Registry set collections. This set received the "Best 20th Century Regular Issue" award for 2004, 2005, and 2006 plus installed into the "Hall of Flame". The set was #3 on the all time best set listing at retirement with a set average of 98.06. The following record is for the other 4th Bureau sets that have been retired in the past as of January 15, 2008. 1923-26 Perf 10 set was #2 on the all time best set listing with an average of 97.50. This set had two "Best of Registry Certificates" for 2004 and 2005 plus "Best 20th Century Regular Issue Set" for 2006. 1926-28 Regular Issue Rotory set was #2 on the all time best set listing with an average of 98.22. 1926-31 Regular Issue Rotory set was #3 on the all time best set listing with an average of 97.50. 1931 Regular Issue Rotory set was #3 on the all time best set listing with an average of 96.42. All three rotory sets received "Best of Registry Certificates" in 2006. The 1929 Kansas-Nebraska overprint was #3 on the all time best set listing with an average of 96.35 and had received the "Best of Registry Certificate" for 2004 and 2005.
