Owner's Comments:
A set that includes stamps for which grading is not so relevant. NO perfectly centred used 15c and 24c inverted frame varieties exist. One is lucky to find sound copies where the design is NOT impinged by the perforations. The 30c invert is the exception - it can come beautifully centred. Herman Herst Jr. found a magnificent used 30c invert in a dime packet in the Sixties. Upon discovery back home he rang the dealer to offer more but the dealer would not believe him. A sense of anti-climax pervades now that the set is completed at reasonable grades. One or two stamps can be bettered, particularly the 90c, but I have resisted the temptation. I would prefer to spend funds on completing sets elsewhere. It is ironic that one takes such absurd pleasure to complete sets when at sale they are plundered for the best. Dealers and auctioneers have no such sentimentality.
