Owner's Comments:
The two cent carmine rose colored stamps, more commonly called the 2 cent reds, are a challenge to collect. This collection started in 2002 and continues to this day. The set has received the 2004, 2005, and the 2006 best set awards. In 2007, the set was awarded one of the "Best of the Best" set awards and was inducted into the "Hall of Fame" with a year ending set average of 99.24. Just like the movie "Hunt for Red October" my passion is to hunt for the best 2 cent reds. With the challenge for continuous improvement, the set average has increased to 99.52 at yearend of 2008. In 2009, additions to the set increased the set average to 100.12 which included four M-100J, sixteen M-100, three M-98J, and one M-98. This set has moved on to one of the finest commemorative stamp collections in the country.
